Venue Changed Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka
On behalf of Bangladesh Medical Physics Society (BMPS), it is a great privilege and honor to extend our invitation in the 21st Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP) in 2021, the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
BMPS has the opportunity to organize three international congresses called “International Conference on Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology and Imaging (ICMPROI) in the year of 2011, 2014 and 2018 in Dhaka. We are immensely intended to organize AOCMP 2021 in Cox’ Bazar, the world’s longest sandy sea beach city. For the conference and sightseeing, the venue and accommodation are above the standard. We do believe that all would enjoy the great time at the Congress in Cox’s Bazar.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming the AFOMP committees, all delegates and accompanying persons to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

AFOMP President Message
Greetings from a AFOMP President and EXCOM.
As you know that AFOMP was founded in 2000 and we have completed 21 years of active fruitful existence and moved from infancy to adulthood. In last 21 years with cooperation of all the NMO’s and all of you AFOMP has established as a vibrant and extremely useful regional organisation of IOMP.
Asia Oceania region has over 50 countries and hosts over 60% of the world’s population. Some countries are too small and do not have even a single medical physicist or the required number of medical physicists to form national medical physics organisation. Socioeconomically AFOMP region is remarkably diverse and no unifying council, therefor AFOMP has a big role to play for harmonisation of medical physics education as well recognition of medical physics profession. At present AFOMP has 19 NMO’s as members and 2 NMO’s as associate member and re-presents over 11,000 medical physicists. Read more ➜
IOMP President Message
I am delighted to note that the 21st Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP) is being organized at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh on 10-12 December 2021. Asian region has a tradition of organizing AOCMP regularly and 21st conference itself is a sign of the long history of this conference that is organized under the aegis of the Asian Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (AFOMP). No other region of the world has been organizing regional medical physics conferences for that long. Congratulations to AFOMP for continued regular actions and we in IOMP are happy that AFOMP has been able to maintain this activity. Congresses provide effective means for continuing education. I note that AOCMP has invariably maintained reasonable balance between regional talents and external experts. I am sure this conference also will provide scientific feasts for all participants. The problems created by pandemic are insurmountable and we all are helpless Read more ➜

Bangladesh Medical Physics Society (BMPS)
In Bangladesh, the first activities of Medical Physics education started in 1994 at the Physics Department of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). In 1996, a co-operation in conference/workshop and training of Medical Physics between Bangladesh and Germany was started by the Task Group-K16 “Medical Physics in the Developing Countries” of the German Society for Medical Physics (DGMP).
